Project Overview

While at P3 Media, I was tasked with updating the design of Dollarama, Canada's largest discount dollar-store operator’s e-commerce B2B website. I worked primarily on improving the homepage, product landing page, product pages, as well as add-to-cart and various account and checkout pages for both desktop and mobile.

Objective

The goal was to give the brand a fresh, modern look with updated styling and better photos, while making the website much easier to use with a clear and easier pathway to conversion. The constraints were that I needed to retain the brands iconic green and yellow colour swatches, along with many of their current website assets.

Strategy & Design

To eliminate a static feel and keep the site dynamic, I introduced personalized, shoppable modules directly in the hero area and top section. I also worked on surfacing high-value product cards with clear pricing and quick-add functionality to helps short the path to purchase. I then incorporated a mosaic layout to diversify the visual grid, using lifestyle-driven imagery to elevate brand value, and drive higher click-through and conversion rates. Then finally I revamped the footer by adding a scannable QR code for their app as well as cleaned up the overall layout with a dark footer to visually separate it from the catalogue.
